1220 Adoptions and Counting
My Kitty Cafe has successfully partnered with Purrfect Companions of Norfolk Cat Rescue since February 2016. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun-filled environment for adoptable rescue cats to find their furrever families.
Here are our kitties at MKC all ready for adoption:
Birthdate: July 12, 2020
Symantha is a lovely black Panther girl with soft, sleek and shiny fur. This sweet affectionate girl loves to roll on her back asking to be petted & she will let you know when she’s had enough attention for the day. When tired Symantha can be found curled up in front of the tv at MKC or up high on a shelf in the back. This sweet adult kitty came to our rescue in a round-about-way. She previously was rehomed through an add on kijiji but when her new owner discovered she’d unknowingly been given a pregnant cat she surrendered her to Purrfect Companions. Symantha had 3 lovely kittens in a foster home and raised them with the help of her foster mom. Her kittens have all been adopted and now it’s Symantha’s turn. We are sure that MKC is the right place for Symantha to find her perfect match and go to a forever home this time. In the meantime this motherly girl readily welcomes new kitties to MKC and you will often find one curled up beside Symantha at nap time.
Birthdate: December 14, 2020
This pretty girl has classic tortoiseshell colours with some patches of white. Quirky & sweet, Queena loves short cuddle periods and non-stop pets. She’s skittish about being placed on your lap and prefers to find her own spot near you in a cat tree or on a kitchen chair. Queena gets along well with other cats but she’s a pretty independent kitty who peacefully goes her own way.
Queena was surrendered in December 2021 as a single adult stray found outdoors. She has been living in a quiet foster home since her surrender and it’s bound to be a big adjustment for her to get used to the busy atmosphere at MKC. Queena really needs to find her own special person to give her companionship and love in a forever home of her own. A quiet & calm approach will help interested adopters get to know this beauty to see if Queena might be that special kitty who is meant to come home with you.
Birthdate: July 14, 2021
Mohawk is a very pretty black and white cat who is sister to Cayuga. These bonded girls have lived together since their beginnings in an outdoor colony of kitties and they must be adopted as a pair. Mohawk is the more outgoing of the two but she was very shy and frightened when initially rescued and taken into PCON foster care. With the patience of her foster families Mohawk gradually relaxed and showed herself to be a very affectionate girl who loves to be petted and enjoys curling up on your lap for cuddles. This sweet and quirky kitty is full of energy when she plays. She loves to spend time with her sister and her toys and enjoys using a Horizontal scratching post. There will be an adjustment time for Mohawk at MKC to get used to new kitties and the busy atmosphere as well as a different routine. Once Mohawk and Cayuga meet their perfect match the adopter should be prepared to let this pair of kitties adapt at their own pace to life in their forever home. The rewards for your patience and love will be immeasurable.

This black beauty has a little patch of white on her chest and very shiny fur. Cayuga and her sister Mohawk are a bonded pair who have come to MKC looking for a forever home together. These girls were part of an outdoor colony of cats rescued in November 2021. Although Cayuga was the tiniest of the group she made up for it with her strong personality. Cayuga was determined to have nothing to do with the humans in her foster home initially. Eventually this little protector learned to very gradually trust her caregivers and her hisses transformed to purrs. It’s been a slow process but with the socializing received from 3 different foster moms Cayuga and her sister Mohawk are now ready for adoption. They have followed two brother kitties who previously were adopted at MKC, Oneida & Tuscarora (Rory). Cayuga will be shy at first with all the new people to meet at MKC but once she builds trust she enjoys being petted. Cayuga can be cautious around other cats (other than Mohawk) and will have to get to know all the other resident kitties gradually. In her foster home she enjoyed sleeping on the highest level of a cat tree, or on a blanket on the back of a couch. Cayuga likes to use a vertical sisal scratch post.
Cayuga and Mohawk will be a wonderful pair of pets for a patient kitty-loving adopter. Coming to My Kitty Cafe for this last step of her journey to adoption is bound to be a challenge for Cayuga. However she is a survivor and has adapted so far to many changes in her living situation. I’m confident with patience and understanding this kitty will show her true potential as a loving companion once she and her sister have met their perfect match at MKC.
Birthdate: July 21, 2022 This beautiful tabby/Bengal mix girl has the cutest little meow which is almost a tiny squeak. Hestia is one of 5 kittens who were very tiny for their age and underweight when rescued. As a result Hestia & her siblings had food insecurities which their foster parents have worked hard to help them overcome. Hestia is still food possessive but is learning that each meal is not going to be her last. Hestia’s nickname in her foster home was Butternut. This cutie loves to be petted and will circle round your legs for attention almost tripping you. Energetic and playful, Hestia needs to be accepted for her unique personality as well as her good looks. She will fit well into an active home with patient adopters willing to continue to work on her socialization. She loves her siblings and would benefit from being adopted with one of them or into a home with a young kitty playmate.
Birthdate: July 24, 2022
This light orange tabby is a friendly boywith a lovely temperament. He is as good looking as he is sweet and playful. Oregano was born in a Purrfect Companions foster home to a lovely mama kitty who was rescued just 2 weeks before she had her kittens. “Reggie” is your typical orange boy kitty who gets along well with everyone. He loves to play with other kittens, enjoys being petted and is used to lots of cuddling in his foster home. This is Oregano’s second stay at MKC as he initially came with his brothers, Lyon, Cormac and Tarragon. He’s benefited from extra time living in a foster home with his sister Cajun and foster brother Gale. This adorable boy loves everyone and he has become particularly bonded with Gale while they were fostered together. These “brothers from another mother” are seeking a forever home together. They would be a perfect pair for many different types of households.
Birthdate: July 24, 2022
Cajun is the sweetest kitten with the softest coat and the biggest purr. She loves to help with whatever you are doing and enjoys playing with other kittens. Cajun is a gentle girl used to living in a quiet & calm foster home and she is timid around kids and dogs. Cajun can be shy in new situations but she is very affectionate and loving once she is comfortable with you. While she loves to play with other kitties, she’s not as boisterous as her brother Oregano and his sidekick Gale. Cajun was born in a foster home and her brothers Lyon, Tarragon and Cormac, as well as her sister Lyrical, have all been adopted at MKC. Cajun has come to MKC with Oregano & Gale now that all are ready for adoption. A quiet and calm adult-only home or one with mature older kids would be ideal for Cajun. She’d be happy to share her family with adult cats or other kittens but would adjust more easily in a home without dogs.
Birthdate: July 26, 2022
Gale is a beautiful classic marbled tabby boy with a wonderful personality! Soft and friendly, Gale loves attention and is happy to be cuddled and carried around. This handsome boy has been in the care of Purrfect Companions since his rescue at only a few days old. He was picked up by Animal control services on the streets of Brantford and brought with his mom and two brothers to our shelter. When his brothers Glade and Gaylen went to MKC to find forever homes Gale remained in his foster home to complete his vetting. His foster mom also took care of Oregano and Cajun. Gale has benefited from lots of attention while being raised in a calm & caring home. He would love to be adopted with his best friend, playmate & foster brother Oregano and this would help them both adjust more easily to their forever family.
