1260 Adoptions and Counting
My Kitty Cafe has successfully partnered with Purrfect Companions of Norfolk Cat Rescue since February 2016. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun-filled environment for adoptable rescue cats to find their furrever families.
Here are our kitties at MKC all ready for adoption:
Queena
Birthdate: December 14, 2020
This pretty girl has classic tortoiseshell colours with some patches of white. Queena gets along well with other cats and is often seen sitting beside Mohawk or Cayuga peacefully watching the activity at MKC from on high. Queena was surrendered in December 2021 as a single adult stray found outdoors. She lived in a quiet foster home since her surrender and it has been a big adjustment for her to get used to the busy atmosphere at MKC. Queena tends to stay out of the action but we know she enjoys playing after hours with the other kitties and all the toys. She has started coming to the front area and sitting on a cat tree during quiet times in the day and hopefully Queena will soon spend more time out with visitors. When she’s comfortable with you, Queena loves to be petted but, like most kitties rescued as adults, Queena isn’t a big fan of being picked up. This sweet tortie needs to find her own special person to give her companionship and love in a forever home of her own. If interested in meeting Queena for possible adoption, it’s best to come on a weekday and be prepared to sit and wait patiently
for her to interact with you. You just might be that special person Queena has been waiting to meet and I’m sure if you are she will let you know. Someone who adopts this beauty will have the rewarding experience of earning the love and trust of a very shy and extra special girl.

Mohawk
Birthdate: July 14, 2021
Mohawk is a very pretty black and white tuxedo girl. She and her sister Cayuga have lived together since their beginnings in an outdoor colony of kitties and also in 3 foster homes before coming to MKC. Mohawk is the more outgoing of the two but she was very shy and frightened when initially rescued and taken into PCON foster care. With the patience of her foster families Mohawk gradually relaxed and showed herself to be a very affectionate girl who loves to be petted and enjoys curling up on your lap for cuddles. This sweet and funny girl gets along well with all the other kitties at MKC and has adapted to lots of changes since her arrival several months ago. Mohawk knows the MKC routine well now and is always the first in line for wet food time. She loves to watch bird & squirrel videos on the TV and knows all the best spots for naptime. Mohawk is really ready to move to the next step and find her forever home. If you are interested in possible adoption of Mohawk either as a pair with her sister or another kitty, or on her own, please submit an application for consideration.

Cayuga
Birthdate: July 14, 2021
This black beauty has a little patch of white on her chest, big beautiful golden eyes and very shiny fur. Cayuga and her sister Mohawk were part of an outdoor colony of cats rescued in November 2021. Although Cayuga was the tiniest of that group, she made up for it with her strong personality and was determined to have nothing to do with the humans in her foster home initially. Eventually she learned to very gradually trust her caregivers and her hisses transformed to purrs. It’s been a slow process but with the socializing received from 3 different foster moms, Cayuga finally came several months ago to MKC to find a forever home. She has been adjusting at her own pace to the busy atmosphere and the constant presence of so many people. Cayuga has enjoyed the younger kitten residents during her time at MKC and is really still a kitten herself. She loves to play and has begun to accept pets and interact more with visitors. Cayuga loves to watch the wildlife shows on YouTube with her sister Mohawk. She also spends time in back and can be seen sitting watching the action or napping up high with Queena. It was hoped that the right home would be found for Cayuga and her sister Mohawk together but we will also consider applications for Cayuga where she would have another friendly kitty playmate in her home. This girl has adapted so far to many changes in her living situation and I’m confident as long as her adopter is patient and understanding, this kitty will soon show her true potential and be a wonderful pet.

Strydor
Birthdate: August 2, 2022
This handsome tabby was the only boy in his litter, born in a PCON foster home to a stray rescued cat. His mom came to PCON with two older kittens and it was soon discovered that she was already pregnant with another litter. Strydor lived a happy indoor life in his foster home with his siblings and his mom cat. When finished his vetting, he came to MKC with two of his sisters, Orka & Randora, and soon after their arrival the trio were adopted together. Unfortunately they were returned to PCON due to their adopter discovering she has a cat allergy. Strydor adjusted well in his adopted home and as the bravest of the 3 kittens, he took the lead to explore. Strydor has now adjusted to living at MKC again and enjoys playtime with visitors and his sister Randora. When this energetic pair of tabbies are tired out they can often be seen curled up together in a high spot in back at MKC. Strydor enjoys the company of other kitties and would be happiest with a kitty companion in his forever home.

Orka
Birthdate: August 2, 2022
This pretty little black panther is a stunning kitty, sweet and gentle. She is an affectionate girl who loves to be petted. This kitty tends to be quiet in new situations and has had to adapt to a couple of new environments recently. Orka was at MKC previously and then was adopted as a trio with her sister, Randora & brother, Strydor. They were returned to PCON due to the adopter discovering she had allergies to cats. Shy Orka had started to explore and feel more comfortable in the adopter’s home and now has had to adjust to being a resident at MKC all over again. Orka was born in a PCON foster home to a stray mom kitty who came into our rescue with her older kittens. We soon discovered that mom was already pregnant with another litter. Orka is now back at MKC all ready to find a forever family who will have the kindness and patience to let this sweet girl settle in at her own pace. Kittens adjust more easily when adopted with another and Orka would be happy to have a friendly kitty companion in her forever family. She would be best suited to a quiet and calm forever home.

Randora
Birthdate: August 2, 2022
Randora is a pretty tabby girl who has recently returned to MKC with two of her siblings, her brother Strydor & her sister Orka. The three were adopted together but unfortunately their adopter soon discovered she was allergic to cats. Randora was born in a Purrfect Companions foster home to a mom kitty that had been rescued with two older kittens – and it was discovered mom was ready to give birth again. Randora is a sweet and playful girl who loves belly rubs and playing with her toys and other kitties. Randora came out of her shell quite soon after she was adopted and has also adjusted quickly to being a resident kitty at MKC again. This playful girl is enjoying attention from visitors and she and her brother Strydor are frequently seen cuddling together up high at nap time or chasing the spring toys. Randora loves the company of other cats and would be a great addition to a home with another friendly kitty and especially would enjoy a double adoption with her sibling.

Pelia
In Cabin
February 9, 2022
This long-haired black beauty is a sweet girl who can be shy in new situations. When happy or excited, her long fluffy tail vibrates from side to side; it almost wags like a dog’s. This has been checked by a vet and should be no cause for concern to a potential adopter. We don’t know the original cause for this unique ability but its not a source of pain or discomfort to Pelia. This is just one more way that she is very special. This petite girl may seem delicate but she has a very healthy appetite and particularly LOVES her wet food. The way to win Pelia’s heart is definitely through those special mealtimes. This kitty can be cautious & has learned to protect herself – if unsure in a situation she will retire to a quiet spot where she can safely watch. Pelia was surrendered from a rural home with 4 other young cats, none of whom had received any vetting. Pelia was then in a PCON foster home where she got along well with the family’s other cats as well as two kittens. Although Pelia refrains from lively chasing games, she does enjoy quiet playtime and loves being petted gently. This pretty girl would be well suited to a calm and quiet adult home or one with older children and a friendly kitty companion. As long as she’s given time to adapt to a new environment, this beautiful girl will trust you & show her affectionate, loving & sweet, quirky personality.

Adora
In Cottage
Birthdate: August 2, 2022
Adora is a sweet & pretty tabby. She was born in a foster home to a stray mom kitty who was rescued with two older kittens and then discovered to be already pregnant. Several of these young kittens contracted a nasty virus and Adora & her sister Mermista were affected most severely. As a result, they developed Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a neurological condition also known as Wobbly kitten syndrome. The two have had a little longer stay with their foster family while recovering and learned to adapt to their condition well. CH kittens movements are clumsy and off-balance but they don’t experience pain or discomfort or require any medication or further treatment for their condition. Adora loves to play with toys and explore her environment just like any other kitten her age. This sweet little girl got along well with the adult cats in her foster home and loved playing with her sister. She and Mermista are perfect companions and would do well if adopted together. They have been used to a calm and quiet adult home but would also enjoy the company of mature and gentle children.

Mermista
In Cottage
Birthdate: August 2, 2022
Mermista is a pretty tabby girl who was one of a litter of kittens born in a PCON foster home. Their mom kitty was a stray and already pregnant when rescued with two older kittens. “Misty” is an affectionate & gentle girl who will stretch out and show you her belly when she wants to be petted. Like her sister Adora, Mermista has a condition known as Wobbly Kitten syndrome; the official term for this is Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This is a neurological affect caused by a virus the kittens contracted when much younger. Although it’s left them both with a clumsy & wobbly walk, the two sisters don’t let this stop them from playing & exploring together & living an otherwise normal & happy life. These sweet girls have spent extra time with their foster family while adapting to their condition and would benefit from being adopted as a pair. They would love to continue the rest of their journey together as well-suited, bonded companions. We are looking for a loving and calm adult family or with mature older children, who will accept and treasure both these sisters and love them for being two very special and wonderful kitties.

Aletta
In Catio
Birthdate: September 28, 2022
This little beauty has a subtle mahogany tint to her fluffy & very soft black fur. She’s every bit as sweet as she is gorgeous. It’s very difficult to comprehend why anyone would be unkind to this girl but it is believed she was dumped outside, a young “teen” kitten, unvaccinated and unspayed. When Aletta was spotted in a backyard, fleeing from two large male cats, the concerned homeowner contacted Purrfect Companions. Initially Aletta was very frightened in her foster home, but she has learned to trust and now enjoys being petted. When she first came into foster care Aletta didn’t know how to play but she now loves the crinkle tube and anything that swings. She also will lay down and knead (making biscuits!) when you pet her and rewards you with her constant purring. Aletta has been fully vetted and has now come to MKC ready to meet her forever family and be adopted. After her traumatic experiences outdoors, Aletta certainly deserves to enjoy a secure & happy indoor life in her forever home.
